Mabel Sotomayor Hernández

Mabel Sotomayor Hernández serves as a Junior Member at MZLS, focusing her practice on appellate matters, administrative proceedings, government investigations and public law. With experience in big law, the Supreme Court and the Department of Justice, she brings a strong background to the firm.

Mabel draws on valuable experience gained during her tenure as Deputy of the Solicitor General of Puerto Rico and as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico. She offers extensive experience in supervising legal teams, performing complex legal research with a particular emphasis on U.S. and Puerto Rico Constitutional Law, and skillfully drafting critical legal documents, including appellate briefs, court opinions, and pleadings. At MZLS, Mabel helps clients navigate complex administrative processes and represents them before appellate courts, state and federa, as well as government bodies. Her work leverages a deep understanding of governmental and public matters built throughout her career.

Mabel was admitted to the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico Bar in 2017, achieving the highest score on the bar examination that year and ranking first out of 401 candidates. She also graduated with the top GPA in her 2017 class (4.00).
