MZLS ALERT
The Puerto Rico Hotel and Tourism Association (PRHTA) has announced the appointment of Fabiola Pagán Meléndez as its new Director of Government Affairs.
Pagán Meléndez joins the Association following the departures of Jean Peña Payano, now serving as Legislative Advisor to the Government of Puerto Rico, and Michael Juarbe Laffitte, who recently assumed a position with LUMA Energy.
Before joining PRHTA, Pagán Meléndez spent six years in the U.S. Congress, most recently as Legislative Director to Representative Emanuel Cleaver II (D-MO-05). She previously served as Legislative Assistant to Senator Robert Menéndez (D-NJ), advising on Puerto Rico and Latino affairs, and contributed to the passage of Public Law 117-82 (Puerto Rico Recovery Disclosure Accuracy Act). She holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras.
The appointment reflects PRHTA’s continued emphasis on policy engagement and collaboration across Puerto Rico’s tourism, hospitality, and economic development sectors.
