Chambers and Partners has published the Puerto Rico chapter of its Joint Ventures 2026 Global Practice Guide, written by Maceira Zayas. Crystal Acevedo Jiménez, Francisco González De La Matta and Anthony O. Maceira Zayas authored both sections of the chapter, Law and Practice and Trends and Developments, under the firm's name.
The Global Practice Guides give in-house counsel and business leaders comparative legal commentary across key jurisdictions, and Chambers selects the writers of each chapter on the same basis it uses to rank lawyers worldwide. Puerto Rico appears in this year's guide alongside eighteen jurisdictions that include China, Germany, Japan, Saudi Arabia and Switzerland, and it is one of nine with a Trends and Developments section.
The Law and Practice section explains how a venture on the island answers to San Juan and Washington at once, from entity choice under the Delaware-modeled General Corporations Act to sanctions screening, CFIUS review, antitrust clearance and beneficial ownership reporting. The Trends and Developments section presents Puerto Rico as a platform for cross-border ventures and examines the consortium structures that compete for public-private partnerships, including the certification Act 66-2026 now requires of proponents.
This is the firm's second chapter in the series this year, following the Puerto Rico chapter of International Tax 2026.
